Gas Fracking Will Save The Environment

August 20th, 2011

Let me start off by saying that if the world really wants to ‘Save The Environment‘, then the world needs to remove it’s dependency on the environment because it’s that very same dependency that is fuelling the destruction.

Gas Fracking Will Save The Environment

Now we all know that ‘the world’ is not about to cut back let alone remove it’s environmental dependency no matter how hard or loud any lobby may bleat, so where does that leave us – I’ll tell you where that leaves us… it leaves us with Gas Fracking!

You and everyone else on this planet needs ‘energy’, some may need only a few sticks of wood for a fire yet others may require megawatts of electricity or billions of barrels of oil… and no matter how you cut it, slice it or parcel it up, producing that energy all leads to the destruction of the environment in one way or another!

How Long Should A Runny Nose Run

August 17th, 2011

runny noseA few hours, a day, perhaps a week or two or even a month, how about six months or heaven forbid, continuously?

These are the questions that need answering in our otherwise busy and hectic lives.

There was a time in the not so distant past, when I worked in the European ski fields and having a runny nose was considered de rigueur, almost a part of your uniform. The standing joke was always ‘April’ whenever anybody asked when your runny nose was going to stop running! (April signified the end of winter in Europe and nearly the end of the ski season and a time when things began warming up).

The Allconnex Gold Coast City Council Conspiracy

August 5th, 2011

Allconnex Gold Coast City Council Conspiracy

Allconnex, the Gold Coast City Council water department by another name.

Sure they’ve got different names and sure they have different logos and hey, a quick search of companies house yields they’ve got different owners – so by all accounts you would think they’re independant BUT YOU’D BE WRONG.

Allconnex is just the Gold Coast City Council Water Department by another name!

…but don’t take my word for it, just read on and see for yourself.

Are Baby’s First Words Mama or Dada

July 11th, 2011
Are Baby's First Words Mama Or Dada
Are Baby’s First Words Mama Or Dada?

Will Your Baby’s First Words Be MaMa or DaDa?

Well there is overwhelming traditional statistical evidence which would suggest that MaMa takes out the win (and not just because ‘Animal’ has MaMa at 2x that of DaDa).

However new research has brought the question to the fore once again and the results make compelling reading… it all depends on the siblings (or lack thereof)…!

Realising One’s Own Mortality Is Hard On Others

June 16th, 2011

Realising One's Own Mortality
There comes a time in everybody’s life when you suddenly realise that one day – you will die.

You have this concious thought that you will not live forever and that the clock is counting down the days until you will ‘cease to be’. You are but a mere mortal and one day, everything will come to an end.

You have realised your own mortality!

Depending on the person, this is a tough realisation and it takes a bit of time to work through and accept. For some it is but a fleeting moment, for others it can take years to process and compartmentalise and digest and accept (or not as the case may be).

But what about those around you? Have you ever given any thought as to how your ‘new realisation’ might be affecting them?

A German’s View on Islam

May 30th, 2011

This is by far the best explanation of the Muslim terrorist situation I have ever read. The references to past history are accurate and clear. Not long, easy to understand, and well worth the read. The author of this text is said to be Dr. Emanuel Tanay, a well-known and well-respected psychiatrist.

A German's View on IslamA man, whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II, owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism. ‘Very few people were true Nazis,’ he said, ‘but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.’

Another Fine Eatery Goes South

May 17th, 2011

It was only ever going to be just a matter of time before another great eatery falls from grace… Today, it was the turn of

Anna's Garden Terrace Café

Annas Garden Terrace Café, Gold Coast.

In that all consuming quest for the mighty dollar, Anna’s decided to take a very successful recipe (excuse the pun) and try to improve on it… but unfortunately the end result has been a total flop (no excuse for the pun this time).

Baby Jet Lag

May 3rd, 2011

Baby Jet LagJet Lag and Babies, have you tried it?

Every thought about doing a long haul flight with an infant or young baby… if so, read on!

So what is Jet Lag? Without getting too involved, it’s medically referred to as desynchronosis and is a physiological condition which results from alterations to the body’s circadian rhythms. Jet lag results from rapid long-distance transmeridian (east–west or west–east) travel, as on a jet plane. Read the excellent article on this subject at sleepdisordersguide.com

But how does that affect me and my baby?

Service Sets South African Restaurants Apart

April 18th, 2011

Everyone knows that, apart from the quality of the food served in a restaurant, it’s the service you receive from that restaurant that determines whether you will return or not!

Not so in South Africa..!

Poor Service from South African restaurants

It’s obvious from the moment you sit down that the waiters have been schooled in the art of waitering however, it’s also very obvious that eons of african culture are not removed over night. The two ethics seem to sit at opposite ends of the spectrum but only one can prevail…

Do Grandparents Have Rights?

March 11th, 2011

It’s a simple question…Do our Parents have Rights over our Children?

… and there’s a simple answer!

Grandparents Rights

Now, I’m not about to set out a legal argument to support my position because as I’m sure you’ll know, any legal buff worth his salt could take either side and put forward an argument and win. No, I’m just going to say it like it is.
