The Inflated Cost of BMW Spare Parts

September 1st, 2010

BMW badgeCould somebody explain how a BMW spare part which retails for €4.26 in Germany, costs us $384 here in Australia?

Just so there is no confusion, that’s about AUD 6 in Germany and AUD 384 in Australia… the identical BMW spare part..!

Admittedly, when I made enquiries at a Genuine BMW Dealership in Hamburg Germany, they wanted €22 (about $27) for the part BUT, BMW has outsourced manufacture of the part to a 3rd party supplier who retails the part directly for $6.

Now come the Australians… Read the rest of this entry »

Australian Election Hangover

August 24th, 2010

Australian Election Hangover

Phew… what a night

It began as most elections do, with a clear objective of electing a winner but somehow, that doesn’t seemed to have happened..!

So what went wrong?

Well for a start, neither party campaigned strongly enough to persuade the electorate of their merits and in so doing, allowed their opponents to prosper.

That aside, the real reason for the dilemma we now find ourselves facing, is due to Read the rest of this entry »

Australian Elections are Rigged

Australian Ballot Paper

Australian Ballot Paper

If you were to say you are confused by the Australian Ballot Paper or confused by the Australian voting system, you are not alone.

People have said I’m not a stupid person and in fact in fact in some quarters I’m considered rather intelligent, so why is then that I find the Australian Electoral System so confusing?

Could it be that it is intended so..! Could it be deliberately done so that the electorate unwittingly partakes and ‘ratifies’ an otherwise sham..?

But close. Brainstorming is not as scientific or as organised as some might like to think.

F1 – The Car or The Driver

August 5th, 2010

Formula 1

So… the big question all F1 fans want the answer too is:

Is it the car or is it the driver that determines who wins the race?

After listening to Sebastian Vetel’s comments after qualifying last week, and then comparing it to the measured response from his team mate Mark Webber, you begin to wonder…

Everything is Relative

July 8th, 2010

Albert Einstein…and we’re not talking about Albert Einstein and his ‘Theory of Relativity’ either! (Although to be fair, it could be argued by some that his theory is responsible)

…and I’m sure we all know the English proverb “One man’s meat is another man’s poison”

or how about simply… It depends on your point of view!

Interesting… the new Boring!

Interesting - the new Boring … the newInteresting, the new Boring

Two very simple and common words, used by us all… but how many times do we use them in completely the wrong context or for completely the opposite reason..? All the time I reckon… Read the rest of this entry »

$2000 …For A Perambulator

May 23rd, 2010

I recently had the very great pleasure of needing to look at and with the intention of buying…, a pram.

THAT PLEASURE QUICKLY TURNED TO PAIN..!pram

Just to clarify, a pram is that little device we use to push a baby around in, 4 wheels and a seat, perhaps a sunshade as an extra. I’m not talking about a motorised vehicle, no electronic device or controls, just a bunch of plastic and cloth and weighing in at about 13kg’s. A good old fashioned perambulator.

SO WHAT’S WITH THE ASTRONOMICAL PRICE TAG..?

2000 bucks for about Read the rest of this entry »

Kevin Rudd is the new John Howard

May 1st, 2010

The Right was Center before the Left went Right.

You have to either love them or hate them, that’s the reality about political parties. This is not new mind you, its been the same since time immortal. Left wing, right wing, centralist.., conservative, liberal, nationalists… call the parties what you may but it is all the same at the end of the day because its all relative!

Religion and Politics

Is there really any difference between the two..?

Just look at John Howard, he came in as a Liberal and steered his party to the left until it commanded the center, a position that makes it almost impossible for any other party to have any policy other than a radical policy ie not a populist policy and results in a reduced vote.

Kevin Rudd arrives on the scene and immediately steers the party towards the right and low and behold, he now pretty much commands the center… (see the similarity?)

…which brings me to this glaring conclusion. Read the rest of this entry »
